A unique Cycle-touring experience between Hamburg/Lübeck - Elbe & Havel - Potsdam/Berlin The Hanseatic City of Hamburg is the embarkation point of this unique tour. The daily bike tours (individual, not guided) vary in length from 15-60 km (10 -38 miles). Your hotel is a comfortable cabin cruiser, equipped with modern 2 berth outside cabins, shower, WC, Air-conditioning and television. The cycle tours start in the Ratzeburger lakes area, along the Elbe cycle path to Brandenburg and the Potsdamer Lakes. We finish up in the capital Berlin with its Wannsee and the Brandenburger Tor. Daily Bike Tours:15-60 km HAM: 10 Days / 9 Nights The biking is on an easy to moderate level on minor roads, cycle paths, dyke and forest paths. You can determine for yourself how far you wish to cycle each day. The ship is always close by. 1. Day: Hamburg, Embarkation You may like to explore the port and city and visit the Speicherstadt, Jungfernstieg and Binnenalster 2. Day: Hamburg - Mölln - Lauenburger Lakes We sail along the river Elbe to Lauenburg, then further on the Elbe - Lübeck channel to Mölln in the heart of the Lauenburger Lakes Natural Park. There is a chance to acquaint yourself with the town of "Till Eulenspiegel" and its St. Nicolas Church 3. Day: Mölln - Lübeck The boat will arrive in the Hanseatic city of Lübeck around lunchtime. For those who wish it, there is a city tour of Lübeck and also a cycle tour from Mölln to Ratzeburg. The Dom (cathedral) in the historic town of Lübeck is particularly recommended. There is also an optional cycle tour to Travemünde on the Baltic Coast. (38-60 km) 4. Day: Lübeck - Lauenburg/Elbe Cruising to Lauenburg via Mölln. Cycle tour Mölln - Lauenburg, an old fishing port following the old "Salzstrasse" along the channel, ca. 35 km. 5. Day: Lauenburg - Schnackenburg/Elbe The morning is spent on board sailing to Hitzacker. You will have a chance to look around this historic town. There is a bike tour along the Elbe cycle path to Dömitz with its famous fortifications and then further on to Deich and Lükenwisch / Schnackenburg. Storks and herds of sheep are your constant companions along the Elbe valley, ca. 45 km. 6. Day: Schnackenburg - Havelberg A morning cruise to Havelberg, a city dating from the middle ages with the splendid cathedral of St. Marien. A cycle tour through the Altmark via Stendal and Tangermünde whose city walls, towers and merchants houses are well worth a visit, ca. 50 km. 7. Day: Havelberg - Pritzerbe/Havel Time to visit Haverlberg with its cathedral. Cruise on the Havel to Pritzerbe via Rathenow. There is also an option to cycle from Rathenow to Pritzerbe along the old Havel, ca.30km. 8. Day: Pritzerbe - Brandenburg - Potsdam Most of the day should be spent cruising the lakes of the area. There is a chance to visit medieval Heart of Brandenburg and also an afternoon cycle tour around Potsdam ( ca.15km) 9. Day: Potsdam - Wannsee - Berlin/Spandau Bike tour around Potsdam with a chance to see the palace and park of Sanssouci, the palace of Cecilienhof, the Dutch quarter and the Russian Kolonie Alexandrowka, ca. 38 km). At 13.00 we cruise across the Wannsee to Spandau. There will be a tour of Berlin either by bike or boat. Optional Tour Sightseeing. 10.
